Whoop!… Texas is ON BOARD!

Howdy Y'all. The Texas Alumni Chapter is in the process of organizing and getting things together to serve all Nova TEXANS! You will be receiving a survey in the mail soon… and lots more information about the chapter and events that will be on the way (we are going to have at least 2 events each year, a website, and a newsletter!).

So… how has this come to pass… why is a chapter starting in Texas … now? Well, just sit right down and let me tell you a lil' story. You see… there was this gal that was sittin' at her computer… just lookin' around the Nova website, wonderin' where the Texas Alumni Chapter meets for “gatherins”. She was plum shocked to find out that there was not an active Texas Alumni Chapter. So, she went into a typing whirlwind and sent a few of them there emails out, and sure enough let the Nova Alumni Chapter know that this was not gonna float… Texas had to be represented… what could she do?!

Nova quickly responded and let that lil' gal in Texas know the whole scoop. Faster than you could say BBQ, the Nova Alumni Association flew that curious gal (and her curious friend) from Texas to sunny Florida for some of that good ole' Nova Alumni training! What a journey! Several Alumni Presidents from other states where at the training and Texas Gal 1 and Gal 2 (both 2003 graduates of Nova) got all the info to bring back to the glorious state of Texas to share!

So, that's how the Texas Alumni Chapter got started in 2005. We (Joanna L. Faulk, Ed.D. and LaWanda Black-Finney, Ed.D.) hope that Texas Alumni will join us in making our chapter one of the best!
