Adjunct Faculty

“In addition to our many excellent full-time faculty, the Fischler School of Education and Human Services employs adjunct faculty in all academic programs. On an ongoing basis, we will accept adjunct faculty applications from qualified individuals. If you are interested in becoming an adjunct faculty member at FSEHS, please do the following:

  1. Please browse through the FSEHS website and review our many undergraduate and graduate education programs and specializations to see if you believe your background and qualifications match one (or more) of our academic programs.

  2. Please review and consider the following general adjunct faculty requirements:

FSEHS adheres strictly to all SACS and FL Department of Education requirements and guidelines when hiring adjunct faculty and assigning classes to those faculty. Any exceptions or waivers to those requirements/guidelines must be approved by the academic program and the Dean of Adjunct Faculty. Specifically:

    • Adjunct Faculty teaching associate or baccalaureate degree courses must possess a master's or doctoral degree (earned at a regionally accredited institution) in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.) Please note that a doctoral degree is preferred.
    • Adjunct Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work must possess a doctoral degree (earned at a regionally accredited institution) in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

FSEHS also considers and evaluates, as appropriate, undergraduate degrees, related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.

Also required of all adjunct faculty candidates:

    • Five years or more work experience related to the teaching area
    • Appropriate professional recommendations (2 required)
    • Willingness to participate in FSEHS' model of teaching, learning outcomes and applied research.

All adjunct faculty applications are considered individually, including transcripts, vitae and supporting documents to ensure that all candidates selected as adjunct faculty possess the qualifications required to teach according to the above guidelines. Please be aware that we offer both onsite (evening and weekend) and online teaching modalities.

  3. Fill out the Preliminary Adjunct Faculty Application below and submit it. The FSEHS Adjunct Faculty and Services Office will contact you for further information (vita/resume, transcripts, etc.).
