Three of the six credits may be elective credit. Grades for courses transferred must be A, B, or equivalent.

Applicants who wish to request evaluation of prior course work for consideration as transfer credit should note this on their application, send course descriptions, and request that official transcripts be sent to DHEL. Current students should request and receive prior written approval from DHEL central staff before enrolling in any courses at another institution intended to be submitted for transfer credit. This request should include an explanation and related course description(s).

Conditional/Provisional Admissions Policy

Students (applicants) who do not provide official documents, such as transcripts, or other specific program admissions requirements will be considered provisional/conditional students. The student must provide these documents within 90 calendar days from the start of the term. [ Note : The start of the term will be determined as the beginning date of each term according to Banner definitions, not the first day of a particular course or class]. If these final and official documents and/or requirements have not been submitted within the designated period, the student will not be allowed to continue class attendance. Financial aid will not be disbursed to any provisional/conditional student until he or she has been fully admitted as a "regular" student. Students who are awaiting documents to be submitted will not be assessed a $50 late fee within the 90 day calendar period. [ Note : When all documents are received for Provisional students and they move to Full Admit status, their financial aid can then be disbursed].

Colleges/programs are responsible for including the following Provisional/Conditional Policy statement to students prior to their admission into the program. The statement must be included in the college/program's handbooks, catalogs, web sites, and any other admission literature provided to students. The statement should read as follows:

Students are provisionally admitted to a degree-seeking program based on a review of unofficial transcripts or other specific program admissions requirements. However, this admission includes a condition that final and official documents and requirements must be received within 90 calendar days from the start of the term. If these final and official documents and/or requirements are not received by that time, the student will not be allowed to continue class attendance. Financial aid will not be disbursed to a provisional/condition student until he or she has been fully admitted as a regular student (all admissions requirements have been approved by the college/program admissions office).

[ Note : Applicants who submit and are admitted based upon complete files, including all official required documents would move directly to Full Admit status and would not be affected by this policy.]
